Free Dental Care

People are often searching for sources of free dental care. Paying for dental care is becoming a growing concern in the United States. Many health insurance policies do not offer dental care coverage. With the concerns about unemployment and the economy, many families and individuals are unable to afford dental care.

There are some legitimate sources of free dental care. Free dental clinics and campaigns or events offering free dental work are sometimes available. The Bureau of Health and Human Services maintains a search function on their website that allows people to search for dental care health services in their area. These clinics may provide low-cost or free dental work to low-income residents of the communities that they serve.

Some state and local government health departments have programs for low-income families in need of dental care. In many cases, children receive regular dental care. Coverage for adults may be limited. Some agencies offer no dental care for adults, while others may provide for emergency dental care such as an extraction.

If the person’s dental needs are interfering with gaining employment or career achievement, the vocational rehabilitation agency may pay for dental care. A person may want to contact the local vocational rehabilitation agency for information on their requirements. Typical requirements include the person’s inability to pay for the dental care on their own and interference with the person’s employment.

In some cases, participating in a clinical trial is a way to get free or low-cost dental treatment. The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) is an agency of the United States federal government that conducts clinical trials. For these studies, the agency may look for participants who have specific dental needs.

Charities can be a source of free dental care or can provide information about where to find dental care locally. People can often receive information about free dental care in the area by calling the local office of the United Way. Some charities directly provide free dental care work.

    Bonjour,

    Leila
