Local charities may be able to help with the cost of dentures. Some charities that focus on affordable dental care offer dental clinics. One may want to call local dentists to see if they are aware of any programs for free dental clinics to help. Area Agencies on Aging may help low-income seniors obtain dental care.
If the person is involved with a government agency and has a caseworker, the caseworker may know of sources for free or discounted dental services. If a person is affiliated with public welfare, public health, or mental retardation/mental health services agencies, the person should consider asking their caseworker about any dental assistance programs.
Vocation Rehabilitation offices may be a source of free dentures. If the person’s employment is being jeopardized by not having dentures, the person may want to discuss this problem with the local Vocational Rehabilitation office.
Some people have had success with getting cheap dentures through dental colleges. However, the process can be rather slow. A complete set of dentures may take up to a year to complete.
Some dentistry practices offer low or no interest financing for dental procedures. A person in need of dentures may want to call dentistry practices and inquire about financing options for free dentures.
