People often want to have perfect teeth. What is considered perfect teeth is typically what is displayed as ideal by models and the media. A general definition of perfect teeth for most people may be teeth without impactions or flaws such as chips, cracks, discolorations, stains, teeth crowding, gaps between the teeth, or misalignment.

When people go to a cosmetic dentist with the desire of improving their smiles, they often have the goal of getting perfect teeth. People may have the idea that they need perfectly white teeth or for their teeth to be made more perfect.
