Vampire Teeth

When someone wanted vampire teeth for Halloween in the past, the person’s choices were severely limited. Most people settled for cheap, plastic vampire teeth which were obviously fake. Many people now want more realistic vampire teeth for Halloween or for clubs.

Those cheap vampire teeth are still an option. People who are not concerned about the teeth looking real and don’t mind removing them to eat or drink may not mind using them. A similar, but more realistic and more expensive solution is customized vampire teeth. Some companies that specialize costumes offer customized vampire teeth.

Another option that is secure enough to allow the person to eat or drink without worrying about the teeth and look very realistic is vampire teeth that are temporarily bonded to the teeth by a dentist. This procedure uses a tooth-colored composite. The dentist adds the tooth-colored composite to the person’s canine teeth in the shape of fangs.

The person returns to the dentist’s office after Halloween or the event for which the fang-like teeth were added to have the tooth-colored composite removed. This process of adding and removing the tooth-colored composite is done carefully as to not damage the person’s teeth.

This procedure of using tooth-colored composite for vampire fangs is surprisingly quick. According to one dentist, adding the fangs takes about fifteen minutes. Removing the tooth-colored composite takes only about ten minutes.

Some people want permanent vampire teeth. There are groups and clubs of people who feel a connection to vampires. The members often alter their appearance to look more like a vampire.

A cosmetic dentist that is willing to do this procedure may be difficult to find. The reason is that fang-like canine teeth are not considered healthy since they may impede the normal muscular movement of the jaw. However, a dentist may offer to do this procedure if the size of the vampire fangs would not interfere with the person’s normal jaw functioning.

Dental associations warn against teeth filing to achieve a more fang-like appearance to the teeth. The teeth filing procedure is typically done as body modification. The process involved filing the sides of the teeth to give the teeth a pointed tip. It would be safer for the teeth to be given the appearance of vampire teeth with pointed veneers added by a cosmetic dentist.
